[Research and Development PC Configuration Example] SfM Processing Machine for Geographic Information Systems

This is an example configuration intended for the use of 3D model processing software such as "Metashape" and "ContextCapture."

We received an inquiry from a customer involved in the development of geographic information systems regarding a machine for SfM processing. It is expected to process a large number of high-resolution photos (approximately 150 million pixels) using SfM processing software such as Metashape and ContextCapture. In addition to SfM processing, we also plan to include high-density point cloud 3D data editing, 3D modeling, and CAD processing. Given the large size of the image data involved, we proposed a configuration using Xeon W series CPUs, taking into account the balance of "at least 128GB of memory + CPU specifications." Additionally, both software applications you plan to use require a certain level of GPU capability. Initially, we were considering a configuration using the Geforce RTX3090, but after confirming the requirements of the CAD software being used, we have switched to a video card that supports OpenGL.
